Agile Manufacturing, Inc (Agile) – News Release
Agile Adds Carbon® to Its Additive Manufacturing Services
Mr. James Jack reports
AGILE MANUFACTURING INC. The 3D Printing service bureau expands its industrial 3D printing capabilities for production-grade parts with Carbon Digital Light Synthesis™ (DLS™) technology.
Uxbridge, Canada, October, 28th 2019 – Agile Manufacturing, Inc. (Agile), a leading provider of 3D Printing & Rapid Manufacturing solutions, announced today the addition of Carbon DLS technology to help its clients go to market faster with a more cost effective production option. With the addition of the Carbon M2 printer and training, Agile is Carbon’s first Canadian production partner. To house the new Carbon printers, Agile has expanded its operations by adding an additional 6,000 square feet of lab, warehouse and office space.
Carbon DLS technology makes it possible to consistently produce predictable isotropic mechanical properties, creating parts that are comparable to those made using traditional manufacturing methods such as injection molding. With a wide range of properties, Carbon’s materials combine high resolution, exceptional surface quality and mechanical properties tuned for production with speeds that make tool-less high-volume production possible.
“We’re excited to add Carbon to our Additive Manufacturing (AM) service,” said Richard Smeenk, President of Agile. “Carbon’s materials and production speeds enable us to make end use parts in volumes between traditional AM and injection molding: 500 to 50,000 pieces. For example, if a customer has five versions of a part and needs 10,000 of each, with Carbon we can run all five parts, without tooling, on an as needed basis. It’s a new way to think about manufacturing!”
“We’re excited that Agile is the first partner in Canada to make Carbon DLS™ technology accessible to their customers,” said Philip DeSimone, Carbon’s Co-Founder and Chief Customer Officer. “As Carbon DLS technology is adopted by more and more customers around the world, we are proud to partner with leading contract manufacturers like Agile to transform the manufacturing industry from analog to digital.”
