Full Bike Frame Printed and Delivered in under a week

In 2013 Agile was contracted to build the prototype of a new down hill racing bike by a top of the line bicycle manufacturer. Agile hollowed the frame to save time and material then built the multiple components that make up the frame of the bike on an iPro 800 SLA printer in Accura 25. The smaller fastener components needing more strength than the frame were built in Selective Laser Sintered (SLS) nylon on a sPro 60. Shelling the frame, building parts in two processes and delivery to the customer was accomplished in less than a week. The prototype was ordered to test form and fit of the components. By having an physical model the bike manufacturer was able to test how well the components fit together and the ergonomics. After a few design tweaks the bike went into production and is currently used by many professional riders in down hill racing.
